Animal Licensing

All dogs that live in Eagle County for two weeks or more during the year are required by law to be licensed with Eagle County Animal Services.  These licenses must be renewed each year and are good for the calendar year only.

Please note the change in dates for the early renewal period below.

One year license
Please note: We have extended the $5 discounted rate for dogs that are spayed and neutered, and $10 discounted rate for dogs that are not spayed or neutered until Feb. 28, 2015 on a one year pet license. This discount applies only to the 2015 license year. After Feb. 28, 2015, the rates go to $10 for spayed or neutered dogs and $20 for dogs that are not spayed or neutered. The attached pet license application does not contain the discount extension dates

You must provide proof of current rabies vaccination in order to acquire the license.  This license becomes a very helpful tool in reuniting owners with their pets in case a dog becomes lost as well.

A completed Pet License Application must be submitted to Animal Services with your proof of rabies vaccination in order for staff to process the license application.

Cat licensing is not required in Eagle County, but you may purchase a cat license for $5 if you want added protection for your pet.
