A private Cessna Citation aircraft experienced a rough landing at the Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) this afternoon (9/7) when its nose gear collapsed as the plane touched down. Five people were on board including the pilot, none of whom were injured.
The incident occurred at approximately 2 p.m. According to Eagle County Aviation Director Greg Phillips, the aircraft skidded to a stop near the end of the runway. No fuel leaks were reported.
The runway at EGE is temporarily closed until the aircraft can be removed, which expected to occur yet this afternoon. No commercial flights have been affected; the next scheduled arrival is set for 6:45 p.m.
