County Manager Keith Montag is responsible for overall direction and management of the organization. Montag began his professional career as a land use planner in 1977 with Jefferson County, Colorado.  In 1990 he became the Community Development Director for Eagle County and was appointed as County Manager in May 2009, after serving as interim manager on three separate occasions. Montag holds dual B.A. degrees in Geography and Environmental Conservation from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from UC Denver. He is also a 2001 graduate of the Leadership Vail Valley program. Additionally, Keith is a member of the American Planning Association, American Institute of Certified Planners, International City/County Management Association (ICMA), and is the Mountain District representative for the Association of Colorado County Administrators (ACCA).
